About Boss Gourmet Sweets
Our Story
BOSS Ice Cream was created in 2010 by Valerie W. Ross. She watched her mother, Dorris Wilson, a Tennesse native, make homemade custard ice cream using a family recipe passed down from her grandmother, when she was eight years old. In 2010, she needed money to pay her daughter's outstanding college tuition and decided to revise the ice cream recipe by taking out the eggs to make it more suitable for health-conscious individuals. Ross began selling this new and improved, modified version of the ice cream door to door to neighbors and fellow church members before submitting 5 samples of this scrumptious confectionary to Whole Foods Market (Maryland) for consideration on their shelves. In 2011, she received her acceptance letter from Whole Foods Market. The ice cream was sold in every Whole Foods Market throughout the Maryland, D.C., and Virginia regions. Today, we have expanded our delicacies to include cookies, popcorn, and cookies.
